Wakeylele Wizards Ridings Gig  25th July 2026

    No dragons on show in North Wales today but plenty of Spirits in the Sky over Wakefield as Mike gathered his trusty band together for the last   summer Ridings Gig of 2026. The band arrived in   good form, fired up after Tuesday’s visit to the YAA base at Nostell, with further invitations in the pipeline. This was just as well with our ace percussionist and her vocal virtuoso husband unavailable. No problem, though, with Val’s bass skills to the fore and a plethora of musical talent on show. 

   Sure enough, according to the grapevine, the whole performance was a roaring success, witness the two videos on show.  Details of the coffee break are sketchy but it could be that the caffeine hit may have contributed to an impressive sequence of American themed numbers prior to the gig concluding with Mike’s signature tune.

    Well done to Mike and the band for keeping the show on the road once again and to Jenny(?) for the videos – as Chris has said, a bit of time to recover before one last push.

   So, the final gig before the summer break is the SCA gig, located at the end of Sandal Hall Close on Friday at 7: 30p.m for 8:00p.m.
